Frequently Asked Questions
Are you currently accepting new patients?
At this time, I am only accepting patients who have established care with Cook County Health and Hospital System, as well as students affiliated with institutions that offer services through TimelyCare.
What should I expect first session?
You will receive paperwork to complete upon arriving at the clinic. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early to check in and sign any necessary forms. The first few sessions are an opportunity for me to learn about you, your reasons for seeking therapy, and your treatment goals, as well as for you to get to know me and my therapeutic approach. I believe in understanding the "whole person," so I will ask questions about your family, relationships, work/school life, previous therapy experiences, substance use history, safety concerns, and overall health.
What are out-out-network benefits?
Many insurance plans offer Out-of-Network (OON) benefits that may reimburse a percentage of my fee. Our billing department is happy to submit the necessary documentation on your behalf for out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that you will be required to pay the full fee at the time of service.
Insurance plans that commonly offer Out-of-Network benefits include Aetna, Cigna, United, and many others. To facilitate reimbursement, please provide your insurance information to our front desk staff or billing department.
Do you offer tele-therapy?
Absolutely! Many of my clients prefer to meet exclusively via teletherapy from the comfort of their own space (e.g., home, office, etc.), while others enjoy a hybrid approach—a mix of in-person and online sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant video/web conferencing platform that works seamlessly with PCs, iPads, iPhones, and laptops. To learn more, please visit the Services section on this page.
