Frequently Asked Questions

Are you currently accepting new patients?

At this time, I am only accepting patient's that have established care with Cook County Health and Hospital System, as well as, those students who are affiliated with an institution that provides services through TimelyCare.

What should I expect first session?

You will receive paperwork to fill out upon arrival to our clinic. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in and sign forms if necessary. Our first few sessions are a period during which I learn about you, your reasons for seeking therapy, evaluate goals for treatment, and for you to get to know me and my therapeutic style. I think it is important to know the "whole person" and self, therefore I will ask questions about family, your peer/romantic relationships, your school/work life, previous therapy experiences, substance use history, safety concerns, and health concerns.

What are out-out-network benefits?

Many insurance plans offer Out-of-Network (OON) benefits that will reimburse a percetage of my fee. Our billing department would be happy to submit documentation on your behalf for out of network reimbursement. You will be required to pay my full fee at time of service. Some insurance plans that offer Out-of-Network benefits include: Aetna, Cigna, United, and many other health insurances. Please provide our front desk staff or billing department your insurance information in order to submit for reimbursement.

Do you offer tele-therapy?

Absolutely! Many of my clients choose to meet excluseively via tele-therapy in the convenience of their own comfortable space (e.g. home, office, etc), while others like a hybrid approach - a mix between coming into the office and online. I utilize a HIPAA compliant video/web conferencing platform that is compatible with PC's, IPad, IPhone, and laptops. Learn more under the Services section on this page.
